ABC at the Mill provides high-quality, Ofsted-registered childcare and early years education for children aged 0–4 years. Following the EYFS framework, we support each child's learning, development and wellbeing through a nurturing and engaging environment.
Established in 2005, ABC Childcare has three successful nurseries in Crewe and Audlem, with our Congleton setting proudly becoming the fourth addition to our family.
Children enjoy a wide range of enriching, hands-on experiences both in the nursery and out in the local community, including baking, gardening, local walks, visits to parks and shops, and intergenerational activities with local care homes. These experiences help children develop confidence, independence and a sense of belonging within their community.
Healthy eating is an important part of our day. We provide a varied, nutritious menu that introduces children to a wide range of healthy foods and flavours. Our meals and snacks are carefully planned to support children's growth and development, while encouraging positive eating habits and a love of healthy food from an early age. We cater for individual dietary requirements and work closely with families to ensure every child's needs are met.
We work closely with families through open communication, daily feedback, parent meetings and learning updates via 'ParentZone' (childcare app), ensuring parents remain connected to their child's learning journey every step of the way.

Our learning environment
Set within a beautifully restored mill in the heart of Congleton, close to the town centre, ABC at the Mill offers a warm, bright, spacious and welcoming nursery environment where children and families feel welcomed, safe, and happy to embark on their early years journey with us. Our rooms and resources are carefully designed and sourced to meet early learning goals. With a dedicated art atelier for expressive art and design, a woodland inspired garden, to promote physical development and an interior to inspire free flow, growth and development in every area of the EYFS.
Our dedicated 0–2 room is calm, nurturing and thoughtfully planned, with a Kindergarten gym, soft areas, sensory play and a separate sleep room that follows the latest safer sleep guidance.
For children aged 2–4, our spacious preschool room is rich in learning opportunities, with low-level accessible resources, a large home corner and inviting areas that promote independence, communication and gentle preparation for school through purposeful, play-based learning.
Creativity is at the heart of our nursery- cue the ABC art atelier, where children can explore open ended materials, create masterpieces, build confidence and express their ideas.
Outside, our woodland themed garden offers safe, secure outdoor play with trikes, sand, water, planting and messy play that encourage physical development, curiosity and a love of nature.
